Do you know Google?’ I said, ‘What kind of animal is Google?’ And then they say you can Google everything and say different things. I say ‘OK, let’s google windmill then.’ And then when I Googled windmill, I find that there are millions of applications. And then I say ‘Where was this Google all this time?’

William Kamkwamba, Malawian author of “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind”, recalling a story about how he was invited to an African Innovation Conference after building at age 14 a windmill to power his village out of bicycle parts from looking at pictures in a book and reverse engineering it without any English translation.
